Fire Door Inspection

Fire doors are a crucial part of protecting lives in the event of fire and help to protect escape routes but the they only work effectively if they are installed and maintained correctly. Article 17 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that it is a legal requirement to ensure that fire doors are adequately maintained so that they perform as intended if a fire breaks out.

Fire doors are designed to contain a fire to a single compartment of a building, therefore reducing the risk to those in other compartments.

The BWF Fire Door Alliance recommend periodic inspections every 6 months and where doors are used more frequently the inspections should be inspection more regularly. We at Clear View are trained to inspect and report any maintenance or renewal for components or the door itself.
